IRATA ROPE ACCESS COURSE
Bookings
IRATA Course bookings are only confirmed, once full payment of course fees has been received.
Positions are limited on all courses and cannot be reserved.
If an invoice is issued for a course, your position on that course is not confirmed until full payment of course fees has been received.
Candidates have 6 months to redeem a course booking.
Wellington Special Offer Bookings: all candidates that book and pay for a Wellington IRATA course listed between August 2023 and July 2024 are eligible to receive our special offer of $2000NZD (inc. GST). This offer is for a limited time only and cannot be transferred to a date outside of these terms. All IRATA course conditions, including pre-requisites and assessment requirements apply. Any cancellations will be subject to our IRATA Cancellation Policy below.
Pre-Requisites
All course candidates must be a minimum age of 18 years, and have an aptitude for working at heights.
The IRATA course fees include 4 days of training plus one assessment day (5 days in total).
All candidates are required to sign a medical declaration form for courses, as they can be quite physically demanding. All information disclosed on these forms is kept private and is not available to the public.
All candidates wishing to re-validate IRATA qualifications must attend four days of training before they can sit the assessment and .
Logbooks
Effective 15th July 2024 – Revalidating Level 1 IRATA technicians who have misplaced their logbook will now be able to request a replacement logbook at the time of training through the IRATA training member company (TMC). Therefore, revalidating level 1 IRATA technicians will be permitted to sit their IRATA training and assessment without prior presentation of their logbook but must meet the requirements above for ordering a replacement.
IRATA Level 2 and 3 technicians must meet the below logbook criteria – Your IRATA logbook MUST:
- Be presented to the IRATA Instructor on the first day of training for review
- Be up-to-date with all completed hours and signed off
- Have sufficient hours logged for technicians wishing to upgrade
- Be presented to the IRATA Assessor on Assessment Day
Failure to present a correctly filled-out IRATA Logbook (IRATA Level 2 & 3 ONLY) for upgrades and re-validations will result in the inability to sit the Assessment and the full course fee will be forfeited.
Assessment
If the Instructor or the candidate think that assessment should not be undertaken, candidates can come back on the next available course with space and receive as many days extra training as required and undertake the assessment for no extra cost.
If a candidate fails the assessment, candidates are welcome to come back on the next course with available space and receive as many days extra training as required for free and undertake the assessment for a fee**.
**From the 31st July 2023: If a candidate fails the assessment, a re-assessment fee of $500 (inc GST) will apply.
- Candidates have 60 days to attend their re-assessment.
- After 60 days, candidates are required to attend four days of training prior to sitting their re-assessment.
- Over 6 months from the date of original assessment, candidates are required to pay all four days of additional training prior to sitting their re-assessment.
In cases of extreme hardship or medical conditions, please contact 5th Point.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellations made in writing with more than 7 days’ notice prior to the commencement of their scheduled IRATA Course are eligible for a full course refund or they can transfer to an alternative course for free. This offer is available for the first transfer only. Any additional transfers will incur a $300 administration fee.
Cancellations made in writing less than 7 days’ notice prior to the commencement of their scheduled IRATA course will be entitled to a 50% refund of the course fees paid. Withdrawals from their scheduled IRATA course, up to the end of two calendar days into the course, will also be entitled to a 50% refund of the course fees paid (Education and Training Act 2020). Transfers to another course will incur a $500 administration fee.
If you fail to show up at the commencement of your scheduled IRATA Course, you will not be provided with a refund.
Failure to attend the 4 full days (30 hours) of mandatory IRATA training will result in inability to sit the assessment per the IRATA TACS requirements.
Candidates have 6 months to redeem a course booking.
All course fees will be refunded in the following circumstances:
Candidates have overpaid the course fees.
Prospective candidates have enrolled in training that has been cancelled by 5th Point.
Prospective candidates have withdrawn from the course and provided more than 7 days’ notice (in writing) to 5th Point.
Prospective candidate withdraws from the course (without providing 7 days’ notice) due to illness or extreme hardship and 5th Point Management agree to exercise discretion.
GWO BASIC SAFETY TRAINING COURSE
Bookings
GWO Basic Safety Training Course bookings are only confirmed, once full payment of course fees has been received.
Positions are limited on all courses and cannot be reserved.
If an invoice is issued for a course, your position on that course is not confirmed until full payment of course fees has been received.
Candidates have 6 months to redeem a course booking.
Pre-Requisites
Al candidates will need to register and obtain a WINDA technician number prior to attending the course.
All candidates are required to read and sign a medical declaration form for GWO courses, prior to commencing training declaring their fitness and ability to perform certain physically demanding elements.. All information disclosed on these forms is kept private and is not available to the public.
Assessment
Candidates will be assessed using a combination of the following methods:
- Theory/Written Assessment (e.g. Short Answer Questions, Multiple Choice, Verbal Questioning Interview)
- Direct Observation/Practical Assessment (e.g. Workplace, Simulated Environment, Role Play/Scenario)

Cancellations made in writing with more than 14 days’ notice prior to the commencement of this Course are eligible for a full course refund. Cancellations made in writing less than 14 days’ notice prior to the commencement of this Course are non-refundable.
In the event that a course is cancelled by High Q UK, then all fees will be refunded in full or at your request.
