Equipment Inspection

Equipment inspection and maintenance services.

It is important in ensuring the continued safety of those using life supporting equipment. Correct and thorough inspection also ensures that organisations are compliant and not left open to litigation.

Equipment can fail. Without training in inspection, and inspection and maintenance procedures, items of equipment can have faults that remain undetected for prolonged periods of time. This may result in an increased risk of injury or harm to technicians, plant and/or equipment.

WHAT WE PROVIDE

5th Point provide a variety of services for Equipment Inspection.

Two of the biggest issues that companies and individuals face when it comes to equipment are timeand money, closely followed by the availability of a competentpersonto perform equipment inspections.

Detailed (thorough) Inspections

5th Point have qualified PPE and Equipment Inspectors available to inspect, service and maintain your equipment.

We can either come to you, or your equipment can come to us – regardless of the amount of equipment required to be inspected, we are able to cater to your needs.

Data Management

Additional to the physical inspection, we are also able to manage inspection records. This can include:

  • Maintaining and updating your exisiting equipment inspection records;
  • Establishing a new equipment management method;
  • Creating a new equipment management method and procedural systems.

We will work with you to establish the most suitable method to record your height safety equipment and PPE.

Equipment Inspection

Managing items in a spreadsheet is the most common form of tracking equipment and inspections, and these spreadsheets remain simple when there is a small amount of equipment, and can quite quickly become unwieldily and daunting to manage when you have 6,000+ carabiners alone. It is just as important to select the appropriate data management system as it is the appropriate system of work.

Equipment Quarantine

Should there ever be any doubt about the continued serviceability of an item of equipment, the equipment should be quarantined or discarded. It is good practice to try to establish how the damage occurred so that it can be prevented from happening again.

As part of our inspection services, any items that fail their inspection are quarantined. We will provide exclusive discounts on all replacement equipment and PPE.
