Safe Working at Height
Workplace injuries and deaths are a serious cause for concern in New Zealand. if you work in construction, or on building sites; you are likely to be working at heights at various times. It is vital that you understand how to prevent calls in your workplace.
The ability to assess your workplace is essential in controlling the risk of falls. Falls from even a height of two meters, while they may not lead to death, can result in severe spinal injury. We aim to help keep your workers safe and reduce any risk by offering the most up to date training.
From initial risk assessments through to risk avoidance, the course material covers all aspects of safety with regards to working at heights. Workers will understand all associated risks of the equipment they interact with, such as ladders and scaffolding, and furthermore, will effectively be able to reduce such risks.
5th Point offer the NZQA Safe Working at Height in conjunction with BeSafe New Zealand. This is a one to two day course, offered to individuals and businesses. Fully qualified trainers, with relevant industry experience deliver the course materials, ensuring that a wealth of experience underpins the training we offer.
This nationally recognised qualification provides knowledge and skills for working safely at height. The course includes:
- US15757 Use, install and disestablish proprietary fall arrest systems when working at height
- US23229 Use a safety harness for personal fall prevention when working at height, or demonstrate equivalent knowledge and skills
There are no prerequisites for enrolment in this course, however this course does require reading, writing and numeracy skills. Please contact 5th Point prior to enrolment to discuss our support services if required.
